Huawei BYOD Alliance Welcomes Partners for a Better Mobile Ecosystem

Oct 20, 2015

[Shenzhen, China, October 20, 2015] Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today reviewed the business progress of its BYOD Alliance at the Huawei Developers Congress (HDC) 2015 held in Shenzhen, China. Huawei also elaborated the new open capabilities of its BYOD platform, and looked ahead at how Huawei’s sales platform would help partners explore the market outside China and continue building a promising BYOD ecosystem.

Established in 2013, Huawei BYOD Alliance has been concentrating on a BYOD security platform. This platform and products, solutions, and critical technologies from Huawei’s partners complement each other in advantages. Members of the alliance are able to quickly release their applications on Huawei’s BYOD enterprise app store by integrating Huawei’s mobile security capabilities. All the members can benefit from Huawei’s global sales system that covers more than 170 countries and regions and more than 5,000 channels worldwide.

“The mobile Internet is now changing the whole world. In today’s age that is characterized by openness, resource sharing, and win-win development, cooperative engagement capability plays a critical role in the sustainable development of industries,” said Liu Lizhu, General Manager, Security Gateway Domain, Switch & Enterprise Communications Product Line, Huawei. “Since Huawei BYOD Alliance was established three years ago, more than 200 global partners have joined the alliance. Huawei’s BYOD platform has integrated over 500 applications. More than 100 key account projects are being operated. What’s more, the alliance has been serving more than one million high-end enterprise mobile users. Huawei’s BYOD partners come from a wide range of sectors, such as the finance, government, large enterprise, transportation, education, energy, smart grid, public security, media and entertainment, and the Internet.”

At present, finance services organizations in China are undertaking an unprecedented transformation. Mobility has become a breakthrough point for a variety of Internet-based financial services. To help its partners overcome the challenges to construction of mobile financial service platforms, Huawei has cooperated with its partners in the BYOD Alliance in launching innovative mobile marketing solutions. China Financial Certification Authority (CFCA) is one of the first partners from the finance services industry to join the alliance. “CFCA is an authentication authority ratified by the People’s Bank of China and China’s national information security department. The cooperation between CFCA and Huawei is focused on mobile marketing and identity authentication. In terms of mobile marketing, we concentrate on data security and security in business usage scenarios. Our joint solutions are an excellent combination of our advantages in different realms. Together we have carried out deep cooperation with many customers, for example, China Minsheng Bank and Harbin Bank, in the preceding projects,” said Ma Chunwang, General Manager, Technical Division, CFCA.

Huawei has also applied its BYOD platform to national mobile e-government construction, making its platform and capabilities open to partners. To assist its customers in addressing the security and standardization challenges to the mobile e-government, Huawei has participated in industry standards formulation of the “Secure e-Government White Paper” project, which is led by China’s State Information Center (SIC). In Aug 2013, Huawei established a dedicated project team to guarantee that all the technical requirements be met. Through its unremitting efforts, all the mobile application components related to the project have passed technical standard verification. “In 2014, we built up a strategic cooperation alliance with Huawei. Seeyon’s G6 government affairs collaboration software and M1 mobile collaboration software have been integrated with Huawei AnyOffice security SDK to provide users with an integrated software and hardware collaboration solution. Together we will continue exploring the global e-government, smart city, and smart campus markets,” said Hu Shouyun, General Manager, VP & General Manager, Government Affairs Business Unit, Beijing Seeyon Software Co., Ltd.

By taking advantage of its market strength and openness, Huawei is committed to building a BYOD ecosystem. In terms of markets, thanks to Huawei’s BYOD enterprise app store and global sales platform, partners will be capable of exploring the global markets. In terms of openness, Huawei made new capabilities of its BYOD platform open to partners in 2015, including Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) trusted cloud platform, automated factory for mobile application security, HTML5 application development, and one-stop Integrated Development Environment (IDE).

In 2015, Huawei added the following new core components to its BYOD platform:

 EMM trusted cloud services: Huawei has received an EMM trusted cloud services certificate issued by state authorities. This certificate is China’s only authoritative verification for cloud computing trust systems, which is widely recognized throughout the industry. Huawei has actively participated in drawing up the Standards for EMM in Trusted Cloud Service Certification. After evaluation by the certification team, Huawei’s AnyOffice EMM was one of the first to pass the EMM trusted cloud service certification.

 Automated factory for mobile application security: Huawei’s AnyOffice provides mobile application hardening services, capable of performing one-stop mobile application hardening. Users can enhance security of all existing applications online via one click, and immediately obtain ubiquitous, mobile security resources such as security sandboxes and Virtual private Networks (VPNs). Huawei’s partners are able to complete integration without the need to modify application codes, shortening the mobility-oriented reconstruction period of the existing applications and accelerating the mobility transformation of enterprises.

 HTML5 IDE: Huawei has launched its HTML5 IDE. Huawei’s AnyOffice platform provides strong support for HTML5 mobile application development, enabling enterprises’ office systems to adapt to mobility.
